Today is Run Up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes Day.
This second day of the new year brings us quite an interesting holiday. Interesting in name (as in confusing), but also in meaning. After some research on the phrase, “Run Up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes,” I found reference to business and advertising (especially in the 50s and 60s). The idea is to throw out an idea and see if it sticks. Such as, here’s an idea I’m tossing around, what do you think, or should we put this out there and get more opinions?
