Plant a Flower Day.

Today is Plant a Flower Day.
Indoors or out.  Or maybe you make a plan to plant a flower sometime later.  Pick a date, put it in a calendar, set an alarm on your phone, and commit.
According to the National Wildlife Federation, you have another option: “Although cold temperatures or other challenges may prevent some folks from planting outside at this time of year, starting seeds indoors is an option for anyone who wants to benefit from the ‘flower power’ that Burbank describes. Indeed, many native plants will not blossom from seed in the first year unless they get a head start, due to their long growing seasons. Wildlife-attracting perennials such as blazing star, purple coneflower and bee balm are just three examples.”
I also like how the examiner.com comments on today, “In honor of this fragrant and colorful holiday, today is the day to get down and get a little dirty! It’s time to get your green thumb on!”
Let’s start producing some oxygen.
Tomorrow: Jewel Day.

Today is International World Thinking Day.

To learn a little more about today, let’s go straight to the source… According to http://worldthinkingday.org:

“Each year on 22 February, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world celebrate World Thinking Day. It’s a day when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts think of each other and give thanks and appreciation for the international friendship they find in our Movement.

The theme for World Thinking Day 2012 is ‘we can save our planet’.”

Let’s chip in today to help the girls and their mission.

Here are some tips to green your day.
1. Use less water.
2. Reduce how much energy you use.
3. Try to consume local and organic foods.
4. Reserve paper for only essential print items.
5. Recycle any and every thing you can.
6. Hug a tree and hug your neighbor!
7. Spread the word and share the theme of World Thinking Day with others.

Tomorrow: Tennis Day.

Pull out the life decorations!

and red.

Something new...

Today is Eat a Red Apple Day!

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

In my office, the reception desk always has green apples… except yesterday… red apples appeared in the mix.  And there were holiday decorations everywhere.  ‘Tis the season.

Take a look at your life… have you been doing the same thing over and over again?  Switch it up.  Add a red apple in the mix.  Decorate your life the way you want it to be.  Add some holiday decorations to your life and keep it festive.

Tomorrow: National Fritter Day.
