Growing up, I always loved cotton candy. I even received a cotton candy machine as a present one year.
However, I’m a little confused why cotton candy is attributed to a day in December.
Punchbowl.com offers some other interesting things about cotton candy and this day: “Did you know that cotton candy was originally called ‘fairy floss?’ It was renamed in 1920. Today in Greece, Israel, and India, it is often referred to as ‘old woman’s hair!'”
So, while it might not make sense… some of the best things in the world do not make sense.
In the word’s of Paula Abdul – “Cuz opposites attract… and you know…”
