Today is National Jewel Day.
theultimateholidaysite.com gave some great insight into today: “They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but that girl may have fallen for some clever marketing. With a whole world of colorful jewels, who says diamond is king? Certainly not the royal family. Fergie, the Duchess of York, received a ruby engagement ring from Prince Andrew, while Princess Diana donned a sapphire.”

Speaking of insights, holidayinsights.com, adds their 10 cent, “Jewel Day is your chance to give or receive jewelry. Will you receive jewelry today? Who knows? But one thing we can be certain about ……. jewelry stores love this holiday.

Yesireee! Today is a jewel of a day to receive jewelry. While most people think this is a day for the ladies, guys can receive jewelry, too.

It does not need to be expensive or elaborate. Just a simple, inexpensive piece of jewelry will be in good keeping with this special day.”

Speaking of 10 cents, I need to start saving for some bling.

The idea of the day is to give.  If you cannot offer jewelry offer something you can give.  Everyone can afford a hug.
Or switch it up and listen to a little Jewel on Pandora.
Tomorrow: National Pi Day!

Old Rock Day.

Crystal

Bling it out!

Today is Old Rock Day.

According to holidayinsights.com, “By definition, fossils are old rocks. Jewelry stones are old rocks. And, coal is an old rock, too. You can celebrate any or all of these old rocks today. ”

I also thought The Ultimate holiday Site by Hallmark had some interesting things t add, “Oh man, the rocks on Canada’s Baffin Island are really old. / ‘How old are they?’ / They’re so old that dinosaurs once used them as marbles. They’re so old they were rocking out when the moon was just space dust in its father’s eye. No, but seriously these rocks have been around for 4.5 billion years, back when the earth was a fiery magma ball. So pay respect to your elders today and tell an old rock, ‘Hey you’re alright by me.'”

Let’s celebrate the old.  AND the new.  As the old brings forth the new.  Either way… let’s celebrate.  Everyday is a holiday!

Tomorrow: National Man Watcher’s Day.
